In a Wolverhampton heatwave, cousin Cathy arrives at the Garry home, and soon catches the eye of Lee, Germaine's would-be boyfriend. Della, meanwhile, is attempting self-sufficiency to reduce her massive food bill.

Della decides to take him into the family home and as the funeral draws closer, Grampy's lacks any suitable footwear forcing Della to venture into her mother's sinister inner sanctum with Aretha, where they come face to face with her unusual family memorabilia.

Germaine is pleased to learn that Cathy and Lee have broken up and she takes a reluctant Aretha and Yoko to legendary nightclub 'The Dorch' in an effort to win Lee's heart.
