Rookie lawyer Mayuzumi Michiko works for the first-class Miki Law Offices, but rather than the commercial law she's an expert in, she feels justice is best served by helping out ordinary people instead. Having lost her first case but determined not to give up, she's directed to get help from the independent lawyer, Komikado Kensuke. He, however, turns out to be a loud, brash money and woman chaser who scorns everything Michiko stands for. Nevertheless, Michiko is determined to get him and his perfect win record on her (and her client's) side, whatever the cost.

With the Komikado Law Offices needing some financial income, Kensuke reluctantly accepts the client that Michiko has brought in, a punk rocker who claims her original song was stolen but a famous producer. Complications ensue when it turns out Kensuke's old boss, Miki, will be handling the producer's case.

Kensuke and Michiko tackle two different cases at the same time, but Michiko's case turns out to be more personal than she realizes.

Kensuke and Michiko face off a human-rights lawyer who is defending a neighborhood association from an apartment complex blocking the sun, but Michiko has her doubts.

Kensuke finds himself trying to sever the bonds between a famous child actor and her mother when his opponent turns out to be none other than his own father.

Kensuke is dragged into another unwanted case, this time involving some villagers who suspect a local factory is polluting their town but those villagers may not be as committed as they seem.

Kensuke finally takes the villager's case against the chemical company to court but now his opponent will be his old boss.

A year has passed but Machiko, Kensuke and Miki all find themselves back together again in a major trial once more. Will Machiko finally be able to defeat Kensuke? And will the secret from Kensuke and Miki's past be revealed at last? Find out, this time in the Final Episode.
