In a feature-length episode, Inspector Valeria Ferro, who's struggling with her own demons, grabs the reins of the investigation when the body of a teenage girl is found in a flooded basement in Turin

The murder of Guglielmo Mantovani appears to be the tragic consequence of a burglary gone wrong. But the man's three children seem to be hiding something as none of them looks particularly distraught.

On a dreary, rainy day, Graziano Torri calls the police; his wife, Alessandra, who has just told him that she is pregnant, is missing. When Valeria arrives at the woman's home she finds a mysterious and recently dug hole… Guido, Valeria’s brother urges her to stop withdrawing from her family, which once again includes Lucia. After a particularly tense altercation, Lucia understands that her family will never be able to forgive her and that perhaps it would be best for her to disappear.

The body of a twenty-two-year-old women is found on the banks of the Po. Her name was Stefania and she worked in a nearby Benedictine monastery. Without overlooking the obvious trail that leads to the halls of the monastery, Valeria questions Stefania's lover, Michele. In addition to trying to discover who murdered Stefania, Valeria also must figure out where her mother is. Valeria, locates Lucia, at the home of Monica, Lucia's former cell mate. Valeria, asks her mother to return home.

A young Egyptian woman, Amina Mansour, is found dying in the hammam where she works after having been attacked with a knife. Amina has an Italian boyfriend and dresses in western clothes, it occurs to Valeria that this may not be taken very well by her family which is still extremely anchored in tradition. Just when peace seems to have been restored to the Ferro household, Monica, Lucia's former cell mate, pays a visit to the house and upsets the harmony that mother and daughter were slowly trying to re-establish.

Arianna Lancise finds her 4-year-old daughter dead in the car, where she had left her for just several minutes. The lack of clues leads the police and public opinion to blame Arianna, but Valeria is convinced that she is completely innocent. While Valeria attempts to prove the Ariana’s innocence, Monica confesses that Lucia, has always been innocent as well - she wasn't the one who killed her husband and Valeria's father, Mario. Who did?

The body of Gloria Severini is found on the floor of her living room by the cleaning lady. When Valeria arrives at the crime scene the victim's 20 year-old son can't be found. But is he really guilty? Valeria conducts the investigation, but can't stop thinking about her mother, whom she has finally decided to ask, once and for all, the truth of why she killed her father. Lucia, put on the spot, tells her that her husband wanted to leave her, but she tells Giulio that she has once again lied to her daughter in order to protect her.

An ordinary administrative case: a man has been run over on the highway by a hit-and-run driver. There would be no need for Valeria, but Inspector Ferro understands right from the start that things aren't as simple as they seem. The investigation is also a chance for her to get away from her family: the last altercation with her mother has left her disappointed and bitter and she wants nothing to do with her anymore. But, after making peace with Lombardi, Valeria returns home to her uncle Giulio, the man who raised her like a daughter.

Giampaolo Petrone, the openly gay owner of a nightclub, is found dead. The man was not in close contact with his family, who had never accepted the fact that he was gay, and so Inspector Ferro begins questioning his circle of friends and acquaintances. Valeria wants to solve the case and submit a transfer request. When her uncle Giulio finds out he is shaken and confides in Lucia who, on the other hand, seems happy about her daughter's decision. Alone, the two share a passionate kiss.

On the night that she was killed, Irene played her final concert. First violin in an orchestra and the daughter of Adele Rubini, the owner of a prestigious theatre, she was a talented and beautiful young woman. This time, however, Valeria isn't there to question those close to the victim as she is in Rome regarding her imminent transfer. Andrea Russo, her right hand man, sees to it, not as talented but definitely just as interesting. To convince Valeria to stay Lombardi promises that they will reopen the case of her father's murder.

A university math professor, Emanuele Sarti, is found dead in a tunnel inhabited by a homeless man in Valentino Park. Strange mathematical formulas are discovered written on the walls of the tunnel: improbable that it's a coincidence. After deciding to remain in Turin, Valeria returns to the crime scene of her fathers murder and discovers a piece of evidence that has been overlooked in the past: that night, in the house on the lake, in addition to her mother and father, a third person has been present.

The entire Rocchi family is found dead in a hillside villa and all evidence points to a terrible case of homicide-suicide engineered by Sandro, the head of the family. But the youngest, Samuele, only six years old, is found alive and well in the trunk of the car. What if the whole thing was staged? Valeria is riddled with doubts about her own case as well. So she decides to confront her mother and learns that Mario wasn't her real father. But this isn't the whole truth, Lucia is still hiding something from her...
