Peter and his family return to Beartown to start a new life and rejuvenate the town's hockey team and future. But the team Peter is supposed to take over can't be saved and he turns his focus to Beartown's hard-training new star, a junior.

The junior team start to win, sparking hope. The pressure is tough, either they win it all, or lose their funding. Everyone's hopes rest on Kevin. The only one who sees him as more than just a hockey star is Peter's daughter, Maya.
