After Tom's brief encounter with Ellen on a wheelie bin and under her car door, he is determined to see her again.

Tom and Ellen's date goes off the rails. He attempts to get things back on track at a Welsh Thai fusion restaurant, but allergies, lust and criminal charges take over.

Tom is hoping to give Ellen a birthday surprise but when his credit card is rejected at the perfume counter he decides to cook her a lasagne at his parents' house. Unfortunately it is not a perfect evening as Ellen, subject to a curfew after being found guilty of road rage, leaves early, on the way out having a devastating encounter with Ashley's pet snails.

An episode of Sharpe inspires Tom to invite Ellen to the most romantic spot in the UK. His parents, sister, Ellen's flatmate and ex all decide to come too.

Tom's dad has discovered that Ellen's got a criminal record, just as she's having her tag removed. Ellen has discovered that she's got a grandfather, just as she's returning to Leeds.
